Carol and Tushtots (sorry, and Carol and John!!) are pleased to announce the arrival of Little Dumpty Roo at Tom Cat Towers

She is Persian, about 6 years old, mink coloured with a black flash down her face ending in a black moustache like a bandit. She is a posh-paws!

Little Dumpty Roo was desperate for a new home, and we decided that we were desperate for a new cat. It has been a year since we lost Grumpy Oliver and we have so much love (and cat crunchies) to share, but it had to be the right cat and we were prepared to wait till the right one arrived. We didn't want to upset Willi Whizkas or Tushtots!

When I first saw her, my heart just broke, she is just so very beautiful, and so very sad. I just had to bring her home to Tom Cat Towers to love. I was worried that Tushtots may be jealous and attack her, but I have been so wrong.

She is settling in extremely well. Tushtots just adores her. He will follow her round just looking at her with silly hearts coming out of his head like Pepe Le Pew, the cartoon skunk!! It's as if he has found a new lease of life, he's almost showing off for her like a soppy love-sick teenager as he displays his skills of fearlessly killing feathers or tearing round the carpet like an idiot, ears back, eyes wide, all the time checking to see that she's watching him! Then he lies on his side with a silly grin on his whiskers keeping an eye on her.

Occasionally he will risk a nose rub and a kiss with her nose when she approaches him then chirrups and runs off like a shy girl!!  I think Little Dumpty Roo has the measure of Tushtots, I think she will wrap him round her little claw!

Tushtots is in love, something he has never experienced before.

littledumptyrooLittle Dumpty Roo was understandably traumatised by the move to a new home and lost her appetite. She is underweight so the lack of eating for a few days worried me daft. But she has discovered the feeding station and is starting to nibble. She doesn’t seem to have a good appetite just yet so I’ll get her some James Wellbeloved tomorrow. That will cheer Tusher up, it's his absolute favourite!!

Today the first poo appeared in the grit bowl. A momentous event! We are such proud parents!

She just loves being groomed and will lie for hours on her back with her legs in the air whilst I groom her little bald tummy. She purrs like an engine whilst looking with her sad blue eyes at me which is good because at the moment she has many industrial knots which she’s letting me gently tease out. She has the most magnificent bushy tail which she flaunts in the air. We call her Princess Posh Pants!

I don’t think that she has been loved or given the attention she needs. She is desperate to learn and sometimes it looks like her soul has been taken from her as she just looks so sad when she gazes into my eyes when she comes for a stroke and tickle. She is the only cat we have had that doesn't instantly jump into a cardboard box and claim it as her own when it's empty!

She sees me as her new Mummikins which almost makes me cry that she trusts me and comes to me for a fuss. John, being very loud, is a human she can’t quite make out yet! However he is besotted with her. He sold his motorbike last weekend, a sign he is becoming a responsible parent now that we have this little scrap of life come live with us

Willi Whizkas, gave her a few hisses to prove who is boss, but was just ignored and even yawned at by Little Dumpty Roo so Wills has decided to just ignore her back, whilst keeping a beady eye on her. Although he will skip into the kitchen and eat her food for her when she's not there which is extremely kind of him! He likes to think he's dominant tom here at Tom Cat Towers, but I think he'll find she'll be a bit of a Diva and knock him off his pedestal before much longer.

Wills has claimed the new cat's old threadbare snoozee as his own for spite and will climb in and grip on for dear life, two very smug orange eyes peeping over the top. It hasn't occurred to him that she is enjoying catnaps in his bigger, more luxurious snoozee!!

I absolutely am besotted with her. I adore and love her to bits.  I could not give her away now. She has been to the vet for vaccinations and been microchipped and is starting her new life as a (honorary!) Turner Tom. In a few weeks time she has to have her teeth done and a couple of rotten ones removed. No doubt when she gets home Dr Tushtots will be in attendance!

We’ve called her Dumpty after Vic, my Dad. That was his nickname which he loved and asked everyone to call him. We put on his gravestone ‘Dumpty’s gone’ which was his absolute express wish for the last 15 years. What is really strange is that she has the same colour eyes as my dad, previously belonged to some-one called ... Vic, and has taken very strongly to the mat which used to be by his bedside. It's now in our kitchen and she loves to roll and purr on it. She feels safe there. Dad was always, constantly on at me to get another Persian cat, so somehow I think he's sitting on his heavenly cloud with a glass of celestial whisky, smiling in approval that Little Dumpty Roo has a home where she's so loved and I have a new little girl to love! So two good deeds in one!

Little Dumpty Roo actually suits her! I can’t think of any other name which would be ‘her’.

I cannot wait for 4.30pm to come so I can trundle over the common from work to give her a love and strokes (she’s not too happy about being hugged just yet, we have a few seconds then she wants to escape which in understandable).

littledumptyrooandtushtots I left Little Dumpty Roo and Tushtots on the bed together this morning. I think that they will become good pals and hope in time that the cuddle up together in the snoozee (note new blanket on the bed from Granny Tushtots!) She is getting more confident about the house, spending much of the day observing her humans from under a chair before coming out for a stroke and a fuss.

I have never known a cat settle in so easily and never known resident cats be so accepting. It's just wonderful!
