Derek and Mr Kipling

Known as The Kippy brothers they always slink into the garden together for a smash-and-grab raid on whatever’s available.  They sort of slither through the hedgerow then split up and to see what’s going. It’s a well-oiled operation when it comes to cadging food at Tom Cat Towers. One heads over to the pond to sample the water whilst the other disappears behind the Leylandii to appear by the patio to stuff his face with any kibbles left out for the birds. They peer into the house, trying to sniff out anything else that’s going. They are young boys, about six months old, and need their calories.
They haven’t discovered the mice in the hedgerow and it’s too early for baby birds, so my worry is that they’ll be clambering through the branches nest raiding before long.

The Kippy bros live with young children who like to dress them up in dresses, so a break at the Tom Cat Towers for a fine dining experience is a well-earned respite to top up the energy levels and calories before going back into the fray that young children and a dog, smaller than themselves but on mega-auto drive as he zooms round the garden chasing them, brings.

I can see the dining habits of these brothers changing over the next few months as they discover the door to the kitchen and make their way inside for a quick grab at the feeding station and upgrade their dining habits from kibbles to wet food, before a rest in the snoozzees to recharge their batteries then heading out again.

The Kippy brothers have not yet developed a discerning dining palate, eating anything and everything.

One Cat is Company

"One cat is company.
Two cats are a conspiracy.
Three cats is an attempted takeover.
Four or more cats is a complete coup!"
