Do your cats beg?
Rebel begs. No matter what I'm eating she'll run up to me with her tail twitching and her eyes wide and innocent, sit up on her haunches with her little front paws pulled tight against her chest and say "bbbbrrriii?" So I always let her inspect my food ... but she never wants any (we have vastly different tastes).
I love listening to her.... her talk is so clear. She doesn't actually make that many sounds but she uses them to mean a whole gaggle of things. Whenever she's asking me something she always says "bbbrrrriii?" but when she's telling me something (such as: "wait" or "hey you!") she says "bbbrrrrr". And when she wants me to stop something she always asks pointedly, like if I'm holding her she flops the front of her body over my arm and reaches for the ground and says "meeyyyyyyaaaaaaaaa" ("pleeeeaaaase").
And she huffs.... ALOT. When I pick her up she says "umph.... umph" and "weeeah". When she sleeps she curls up and hugs her back feet with one front paw and covers her eyes with the other.
In short ... Rebel is cool.

"Cats make one of the most satisfying sounds in the world: they purr ...
A purring cat is a form of high praise, like a gold star on a test paper. It is reinforcement of something we would all like to believe about ourselves - that we are nice."
