Happy Day of Love

Lexi: Hey Dezi do you know what holiday is comin' up this month?

Dezi: It's the month of Love sissy. Me's been seeing hearts and "Be Mine's" everywhere.

Lexi: Yeah me too. I don't get why there are so many holidays sis. And Valentine's day is one of those holidays I really don't get. People get all worked up and worry 'bout things like, will they get flowers or won't they? Will they have a date or won't they? But they all want to make sure to say "I Love You" to those in their lives that are special. Do they need a reminder to say that? Is that the only time they say that?

Dezi: Me doesn't know sissy, but mommy says it's so important not to let a day go by that you don't tell those important ones that you love them. Mommy also says it's very important to not only say those words but to show your love too. Lexi, we are sooooo lucky.

Lexi: We sure are Dezi. Mommy loves us very much and tells us that every day.

Dezi: Every day sissy? Mommy says it eleventy billion times a day. But even better than that is how she shows us she loves us. Me really likes lap time and cuddle time with mommy. And we've been havin' great play time too.

Lexi: Yeah Dezi, I think the idea of Valentine's day is a good one; but I think peeps should remember to treat other's like it's Valentine's every day. You know even meanies are a little nicer on holidays. Do you think maybe humans have so many holidays so they have an excuse to be nice to others?

Dezi Dezi: Maybe Lexi. Me wonders tho' why they can't act like they do on holidays all the time? Wouldn't the world be a much nicer place?

Lexi: I would sure like to think so. You know mommy is always saying that we have to live each day to the fullest because no one is guaranteed a tomorrow. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath. If you love someone, tell them. You don't have to wait for a special day to send flowers or treat someone special.

Dezi: Yep sissy the special peeps and anipals in your life should be treated special every day. A smile and kind word go a long way too making others happy and it doesn't cost a thing. And we can often set the tone of how we're treated by strangers by just being nice. So the next time you're standing in a long line and getting all frustrated, remember the mushy feeling you feel on Valentine's day and "Be Kind". You might be surprised how you're treated afterwards. Dezi: Me learned from you, sis Lexi. You're the best big sisfur ever and me loves you very much. And me loves you very much mommy.
