Did you know that Maine Coon cats are known as “Dogs of the Cat World?” Maine Coons are a larger cat with longer fur, a large ruff of fur around their necks, tufts of fur between their toes, “eye-liner” lined eyes and often a long fluffy tail. While many of them are beautiful, what attracts people to the Maine Coon is the personality. Friendly and people oriented, Maine Coons are wonderful companion cats…they often follow their family around the home or sit near the family in a room. They often trill and chirp and can “chatter” excitedly at a bird outside the window!

Maine Coon Adoptions (MCA) is an all-volunteer cat rescue group that rescues all types of kitties but has a particular affinity for Maine Coons. Our rescued cats are “mixes,” and are rescued from high-kill shelters where 8 out of 10 cats are killed. We also rescue cats that have been abandoned on the street.

We are a no-kill rescue group. Our cats live in foster homes, where they are cared for and cherished while awaiting their “furever” homes. Since our inception in 2004, MCA has found loving and carefully-screened adoptive homes for over 2,300 cats and kittens. Your donations go directly to helping kitties by paying veterinary bills and purchasing supplies such as medicine and microchips.

One Cat is Company

"One cat is company.
Two cats are a conspiracy.
Three cats is an attempted takeover.
Four or more cats is a complete coup!"
