Why did I love this book? Well, it’s all about cats – so that’s a good start! But what I really loved is that each little anecdote encapsulates the characteristics and personalities of each little feline – and occasionally the canine who shared their lives.
The book is divided into 12 sections, each section having a ‘theme’ and under each heading several writers have written little stories about their own cats giving a snapshot into what life is like with their feline companions.
It’s a fact – cats are wise and they seem to be born that way. Many of them bring such wisdom and sagacity into the lives of their human counterparts that the humans are never the same again – and that’s a good thing. We can all learn from our furry four-legged companions and the sad fact is that there is little that we, two-legged companions, can teach them. Oh, I’m not talking about the ‘sit up and beg’ routines that dogs – bless them – love to do. No, I’m talking about what we offer to our companion animals – it’s a one-sided agreement as far as I can tell, and it’s not on our side, that’s for sure.
