Our boy
With the soft turquoise eyes.
Gentle soldier
Silently patrolling the boundaries where you lived.
Fur as soft as seed down,
Everything you needed within you.
Soulwise, self sufficient
You bestowed your gifts upon us:
Light, humour and love.
You came to us as a kitten
On our windowsill.
When the snow fell
you came in seeking shelter and warmth.
You danced your way into our lives
Until, one day, you slipped away as soundlessly as you came.
Our boy, gentle soldier,
