Raena looks back from porch door Raena:  Hey Daily Mews furiends, it’s me, RaenaBelle. So much has happened since you last heard from us, and Kittens, now it’s Christmastime. I’s will catch you up just a wee bit before we get to the good stuffs. Our mommy finally got her fake teeth. They look really good and even better than that, she can talk so we can understand her again.

Dezi:  RaenaBelle, what are you doing? Me thought you were gonna tell everybody about your surgery.

Raena:  I’s hadn’t gotten that far yet sissy. But now that ya’ mentioned it, I’s might as well. Some of you may already know that I’s have had eye problems since the day mommy saved me, but nobody could seem to explain why. During my yearly exam recently, it was finally discovered that I’s had Entropion. That means my eyelash furs were scratching my eyeballs all the time cuz my eyelids were turned the wrong way. Anyways, I’s had a 2-hour laser surgery and now I’s all better. And just in time for Christmas.

Dezi:  Hmmmmpht After the pest you’ve been this past year Raena, what makes you think you’re on the good list?

Raena:  Mommy, of course sissy. Mommy says that we kitties can’t always speak so our humans can understand us. They’re pretty good at understanding when we’re hungry or want treats or to play, but not so much when we’re sick or hurting. And so my pestering you was just one of the ways that I’s was trying to tell mommy that I’s was in pain. She says that doesn’t count towards the good or bad lists. Besides, what difference does it make? We’re not trying to be on anybody’s good list, including the jolly old man in red.

Dezi sits on her scratcherDezi:  Maybe not Raena, but it’s much better to be good than bad any old day, especially at Christmastime. Me loves Christmas. Waking up on Christmas morning and giving mommy a massage before we head to the kitchen for breakfast. Getting in a few lap lovings while mommy has her coffee and then laying quietly while she reads us the story of Jesus’ birth from the Bible. Then we all bow our heads and pray for each other, our furiends, all the homeless animals, our Country and its leaders and the world.

Raena:  And then we give mommy our gift of lots and lots of cuddles and purrs.

Dezi:  That we do Raena, that we do. And mommy gives us all the loving a kitty could ever want in return. And, she always tries to make sure we have somethin’ special to eat besides our normal meals. You know, just to make the day special for us.

Raena:  I’s also enjoy going to the nursing home before Christmas and singing carols to the folks that live there. You know family sometimes forgets them and most have outlived their friends, so they really enjoy our visit. Christmas isn’t a time for anybody to be alone. Thankfully mommy has us so none of us have to be alone either.

Raena and Mommy with new denturesDezi:  True Raena. You know, we need to wrap this up and get ready to celebrate. Raena, mommy A and me want to wish you all a very Blest Christmas and Prosperous New Year. May you all have what you need this year and all the years to come and May God keep you in the palm of His hand.

Till the next time………………………………………………………………….Be Blest!!!

A Morning Kiss

A morning kiss, a discreet touch of his nose landing somewhere on the middle of my face.
Because his long white whiskers tickled, I began every day laughing.
