Gibbs with green catnip mouse www.mollysmice.co.ukDo you remember me telling you last time that George the Rotund had been in our house and peed in my toy box?  Mum had to throw away all my toys because they stank of George’s wee.  She told Dumpty and Gabion’s mum, Carol who did a lovely thing; she contacted Molly’s Mice (www.mollysmice.co.uk) and they sent me two lovely catnip mice – a red one and a green one.

Gibbs in his boxFirst of all, Mum just got the green one out and I flipped it around a few times.  Later, when Gibbs showed up for one of his many courses of free noms that he gets at our house, he started playing with it.  He licks things and then he curled up in a box that he likes (that George the Rotund HASN’T peed in yet) and went to sleep with a soppy look on his face.

Gibbs has claimed the green one so Mum got the red one out of the bag (which was a nice shiny silver bag) and she’s been playing the 1 – 2 – 3 game.  If you don’t know what that is I’ll explain.

Mum stands in the doorway to the hall and I’m positioned anywhere from under the dining room chair, to peeking round the living room (lounge) door or sometimes I’m halfway up the hall.  Mum says ‘1’ and I get ready.  She says ‘2’ and I’m alert now, waiting to see what happens next.  Then she says ‘3’ and throws the catnip mouse up the hallway. I run after it and then having sniffed it I walk away.

Mum has to walk to where she’s thrown it to retrieve and we play it all over again.  Rivetting stuff, it really is.

Casey with red catnip mouse: www.mollysmice.co.ukThe thing with Molly’s Mice is that they’re really catnippy.  They arrived just in time for Christmas so they’ve been in action since Christmas Day and the green one has had some serious action and licky-ness from Gibbs – you can STILL smell the catnip which comes all the way from somewhere called Canada.

The red one hasn’t had as much action or lickyness from me like the green one has from Gibbs, but I love the catnip smell – it really is very strong.

Gibbs, Mum and I would like to say a huge thank you to Dumpty and Gabion’s Mum, Carol, and to Molly’s Mice for being so kind and generous.  Check out their other bits and pieces too – they’re very reasonably priced so Mum says and I think she’s going to buy us some catnip mice from them, too.

Gibbs and I give Molly’s Mice 5 paws of approval.

A Cats Purr

"Cats make one of the most satisfying sounds in the world: they purr ...

A purring cat is a form of high praise, like a gold star on a test paper. It is reinforcement of something we would all like to believe about ourselves - that we are nice."
