FRANKIE WEISS, the only non-human to ever hold a membership #167825 in the NAWCC and the love of my life, after Evelyn passed away. Frankie to be euthanized today; she had cancer of the lungs. Frankie was born July 1997, adopted December 4, 1997, and has been part of my life ever since, when along with her, I adopted a companion cat Johnnie #1. Johnnie passed away after 9 years and 1 day with Frankie and me.
Frankie Weiss was past 13 years of age and every moment of her life with me was one of mutual unrestricted love. I know the tears will often well up in my eyes when I think of her; yet, when I think of her, I will smile and often remember the joy this beautiful feline animal brought into my life. Frankie was well-known on 3 continents and of book and many stories fame. Frankie’s photos were used by other Animal Shelters more than once. The home is full of Frankie and Johnnie’s many, many beautiful photographs.
As a tribute to her … I hope every adopter of a cat can be rewarded with its love … as much as Frankie loved me … and brought so much sunshine into a life that had been dulled by the loss of Evelyn, my wife, on May 8, 1997, two weeks short of 39 years of marriage.
I could not permit myself the coldness of her passing away without the comfort of her body in my arms. I held her close to me … the Veterinarian injected her with the lethal dose that took her physical being away from me. The tears flowed.
FRANKIE WEISS … thank you and Johnnie #1 for the years of happiness you gave to me.

A morning kiss, a discreet touch of his nose landing somewhere on the middle of my face.
Because his long white whiskers tickled, I began every day laughing.
